Mix in a cup of fruit and a few tablespoons of granola for a light meal that\u2019s rich in protein and healthy fats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">10 a.m.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Fill your water bottle<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Staying hydrated fends off sluggishness by moving nutrients through the body. Try to keep the conversation upbeat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Noon<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Select smart carbs<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>When you\u2019re slammed, it\u2019s tempt\u00ading to sub an instant-energy candy bar for a real meal. Not so fast. \u201cThe carbs in sugary foods will give you only a short burst of energy,\u201d Bauman says. If weather permits, add a brief, brisk walk to get your blood circulating.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4 p.m.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Pat yourself on the back<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>About now, it\u2019s easy to fixate on unfinished tasks. But beware of these \u201cenergy thieves,\u201d Bauman\u2019s term for thoughts that annoy or disappoint us. Make a quick list of today\u2019s accomplishments\u2014even \u201cI got to work on time!\u201d counts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">6 p.m.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Dodge the couch<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The energy-wise will get their 20 minutes (or more) of jogging, strength-training, or&nbsp;yoga&nbsp;now.
